JESUS wasn't moody

 Matthew 11:29-30

King James Version

29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me;

for I am meek and lowly in heart:

and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

30 For my yoke is easy,

and my burden is light.

Who do you think JESUS is?

How was He really like?

How did He conduct Himself?

Several striking examples come to mind.

There was one instance He showed anger:

John 2:13-15

King James Version

13 And the Jews' passover was at hand,

and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.

14 And found in the temple

those that sold oxen and sheep and doves,

and the changers of money sitting:

15 And when he had made a scourge of small cords,

he drove them all out of the temple,

and the sheep, and the oxen;

and poured out the changers' money,

and overthrew the tables;

John 2:16-17

King James Version

16 And said unto them that sold doves,

Take these things hence;

make not my Father's house

an house of merchandise.

17 And his disciples remembered that it was written,

The zeal of thine house hath eaten me up.

At a very young age, He admonished His parents:

Luke 2:41-43

King James Version

41 Now his parents went to Jerusalem every year

at the feast of the passover.

42 And when he was twelve years old,

they went up to Jerusalem

after the custom of the feast.

43 And when they had fulfilled the days,

as they returned,

the child Jesus tarried behind in Jerusalem;

and Joseph and his mother knew not of it.

Luke 2:44-45

King James Version

44 But they, supposing him

to have been in the company,

went a day's journey;

and they sought him

among their kinsfolk and acquaintance.

45 And when they found him not,

they turned back again to Jerusalem,

seeking him.

Luke 2:46-48

King James Version

46 And it came to pass, that after three days

they found him in the temple,

sitting in the midst of the doctors,

both hearing them, and asking them questions.

47 And all that heard him

were astonished at his understanding and answers.

48 And when they saw him, they were amazed:

and his mother said unto him,

Son, why hast thou thus dealt with us?

behold, thy father and I

have sought thee sorrowing.

Luke 2:49-52

King James Version

49 And he said unto them,

How is it that ye sought me? wist ye not

that I must be about my Father's business?

50 And they understood not the saying

which he spake unto them.

51 And he went down with them,

and came to Nazareth, and was subject unto them:

but his mother kept all these sayings in her heart.

52 And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature,

and in favour with God and man.

At another time, He admonished Him mother again:

John 2:1-4

King James Version

2 And the third day

there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee;

and the mother of Jesus was there:

2 And both Jesus was called,

and his disciples, to the marriage.

3 And when they wanted wine,

the mother of Jesus saith unto him,

They have no wine.

4 Jesus saith unto her,

Woman, what have I to do with thee?

mine hour is not yet come.

Another example showed how He admonished a crowd, too:

Matthew 12:46-47

King James Version

46 While he yet talked to the people, behold,

his mother and his brethren stood without,

desiring to speak with him.

47 Then one said unto him, Behold,

thy mother and thy brethren stand without,

desiring to speak with thee.

Matthew 12:48-50

King James Version

48 But he answered and said unto him that told him,

Who is my mother? and who are my brethren?

49 And he stretched forth his hand

toward his disciples, and said,

Behold my mother and my brethren!

50 For whosoever shall do the will of my Father

which is in heaven, the same is my brother,

and sister, and mother.

I love the way JESUS corrects us all.

Would that make Him "moody"?

Hardly.

As He said, He was about "my Father's business".

But man is taken with the "cares of the world".

As this my other favorite example shows:

Luke 10:38-40

King James Version

38 Now it came to pass, as they went,

that he entered into a certain village:

and a certain woman named Martha

received him into her house.

39 And she had a sister called Mary,

which also sat at Jesus' feet, and heard his word.

40 But Martha was cumbered about much serving,

and came to him, and said,

Lord, dost thou not care that my sister

hath left me to serve alone?

bid her therefore that she help me.

Luke 10:41-42

King James Version

41 And Jesus answered and said unto her,

Martha, Martha, thou art careful

and troubled about many things:

42 But one thing is needful:

and Mary hath chosen that good part,

which shall not be taken away from her.

JESUS is NOT moody.

He was righteous.

A dutiful SON to the FATHER.

A devoted Healer, and Teacher.

Destined for sorrow, that He might SAVE.

It's all been prophesied:

Isaiah 53:1-2

King James Version

53 Who hath believed our report?

and to whom is the arm of the Lord revealed?

2 For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant,

and as a root out of a dry ground:

he hath no form nor comeliness;

and when we shall see him,

there is no beauty

that we should desire him.

Isaiah 53:3-5

King James Version

3 He is despised and rejected of men;

a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief:

and we hid as it were our faces from him;

he was despised, and we esteemed him not.

4 Surely he hath borne our griefs,

and carried our sorrows:

yet we did esteem him stricken,

smitten of God, and afflicted.

5 But he was wounded for our transgressions,

he was bruised for our iniquities:

the chastisement of our peace was upon him;

and with his stripes we are healed.

Isaiah 53:6-7

King James Version

6 All we like sheep have gone astray;

we have turned every one to his own way;

and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.

7 He was oppressed, and he was afflicted,

yet he opened not his mouth:

he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter,

and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb,

so he openeth not his mouth.

Isaiah 53:8-9

King James Version

8 He was taken from prison and from judgment:

and who shall declare his generation?

for he was cut off out of the land of the living:

for the transgression of my people was he stricken.

9 And he made his grave with the wicked,

and with the rich in his death;

because he had done no violence,

neither was any deceit in his mouth.

The LORD JESUS cannot be distanced from the task at hand.

He was brought into this world for GOD's purpose.

And that, He fulfilled -- perfectly.

How, then, can the LORD be moody?

The world's sins were a burden put upon Him.

Such is the gravity of the LORD's task.

And this born again workman looks to this world.

At how people throw their weight around.

At how they live in pride, ego, greed, and vanity.

At how they want to be idolized, and put above others.

And if they are not, they throw tantrums, and berate others.

At how they want things perfect, when they are not perfection themselves.

They make slaves of others.

They humiliate, and oppress, others.

How asleep man really is.

And I look to my LORD JESUS.

He didn't have such moods, claims, and demands.

He accomplished what GOD asked Him to do.

He spoke what GOD wanted Him to say.

He fulfilled His divine task.

He was in complete obedience, and faithfulness.

Even until the day of the CROSS.

All these, the HOLY SPIRIT taught me today.

So, can you really blame me I only think of CHRIST?

1 Corinthians 2:2

King James Version

2 For I determined not to know

any thing among you,

save Jesus Christ,

and him crucified.

True followers of CHRIST must carry our cross of obedience, and humility, too.

JESUS commanded we do:

Luke 9:23

King James Version

23 And he said to them all,

If any man will come after me, let him deny himself,

and take up his cross daily, and follow me.

Look for such a leader, such as CHRIST.

The PRIEST from JUDA.

One Who loved GOD, above all.

And One Who taught us to love each other, too.

Without partiality.

Or mood swings.

There was no hatred.

No superiority.

Neither a hint of "self".

Or sin.

GOD is STEADY.

The righteous BRANCH

 Isaiah 61:11

King James Version

11 For as the earth bringeth forth her bud,

and as the garden causeth the things

that are sown in it to spring forth;

so the Lord God will cause righteousness

and praise to spring forth before all the nations.

When nations want to offer peace, they offer the "olive" branch.

But do you know what the REAL BRANCH is?

The One that can really offer TRUE PEACE?

The One Whose PEACE will last FOREVER?

Read these, and know:

Psalm 132:12-18

King James Version

12 If thy children will keep my covenant

and my testimony that I shall teach them,

their children shall also sit upon thy throne for evermore.

13 For the Lord hath chosen Zion;

he hath desired it for his habitation.

14 This is my rest for ever:

here will I dwell; for I have desired it.

15 I will abundantly bless her provision:

I will satisfy her poor with bread.

16 I will also clothe her priests with salvation:

and her saints shall shout aloud for joy.

17 There will I make the horn of David to bud:

I have ordained a lamp for mine anointed.

18 His enemies will I clothe with shame:

but upon himself shall his crown flourish.

Isaiah 11:1-5

King James Version

11 And there shall come forth a rod

out of the stem of Jesse,

and a Branch shall grow out of his roots:

2 And the spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him,

the spirit of wisdom and understanding,

the spirit of counsel and might,

the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord;

3 And shall make him of quick understanding

in the fear of the Lord:

and he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes,

neither reprove after the hearing of his ears:

4 But with righteousness shall he judge the poor,

and reprove with equity for the meek of the earth:

and he shall smite the earth:

with the rod of his mouth,

and with the breath of his lips

shall he slay the wicked.

5 And righteousness shall be the girdle of his loins,

and faithfulness the girdle of his reins.

Isaiah 11:10

King James Version

10 And in that day there shall be a root of Jesse,

which shall stand for an ensign of the people;

to it shall the Gentiles seek:

and his rest shall be glorious.

Isaiah 42:1-8

King James Version

42 Behold my servant, whom I uphold;

mine elect, in whom my soul delighteth;

I have put my spirit upon him:

he shall bring forth judgment to the Gentiles.

2 He shall not cry,

nor lift up,

nor cause his voice to be heard in the street.

3 A bruised reed shall he not break,

and the smoking flax shall he not quench:

he shall bring forth judgment unto truth.

4 He shall not fail nor be discouraged,

till he have set judgment in the earth:

and the isles shall wait for his law.

5 Thus saith God the Lord,

he that created the heavens,

and stretched them out;

he that spread forth the earth,

and that which cometh out of it;

he that giveth breath unto the people upon it,

and spirit to them that walk therein:

6 I the Lord have called thee in righteousness,

and will hold thine hand, and will keep thee,

and give thee for a covenant of the people,

for a light of the Gentiles;

7 To open the blind eyes,

to bring out the prisoners from the prison,

and them that sit in darkness

out of the prison house.

8 I am the Lord:

that is my name:

and my glory will I not give to another,

neither my praise to graven images.

Jeremiah 23:5-6

King James Version

5 Behold,

the days come, saith the Lord,

that I will raise unto David a righteous Branch,

and a King shall reign and prosper,

and shall execute judgment and justice in the earth.

6 In his days Judah shall be saved,

and Israel shall dwell safely:

and this is his name whereby he shall be called,

The Lord Our Righteousness.

Jeremiah 33:14-18

King James Version

14 Behold,

the days come, saith the Lord,

that I will perform that good thing

which I have promised unto the house of Israel

and to the house of Judah.

15 In those days,

and at that time,

will I cause the Branch of righteousness

to grow up unto David;

and he shall execute judgment

and righteousness in the land.

16 In those days shall Judah be saved,

and Jerusalem shall dwell safely:

and this is the name wherewith she shall be called,

The Lord our righteousness.

17 For thus saith the Lord;

David shall never want a man to sit

upon the throne of the house of Israel;

18 Neither shall the priests the Levites

want a man before me to offer burnt offerings,

and to kindle meat offerings,

and to do sacrifice continually.

Zechariah 3:8

King James Version

8 Hear now,

O Joshua the high priest,

thou, and thy fellows that sit before thee:

for they are men wondered at:

for, behold,

I will bring forth my servant

the Branch.

Zechariah 6:12-13

King James Version

12 And speak unto him, saying,

Thus speaketh the Lord of hosts, saying,

Behold the man whose name is The Branch;

and he shall grow up out of his place,

and he shall build the temple of the Lord:

13 Even he shall build the temple of the Lord;

and he shall bear the glory,

and shall sit and rule upon his throne;

and he shall be a priest upon his throne:

and the counsel of peace

shall be between them both.

John 15:1-3

King James Version

15 I am the true vine,

and my Father is the husbandman.

2 Every branch in me that beareth not fruit

he taketh away:

and every branch that beareth fruit,

he purgeth it,

that it may bring forth more fruit.

3 Now ye are clean

through the word

which I have spoken unto you.

JESUS is that BRANCH.

Where our peace, love, joy, and salvation comes from.

HAIL to the ONE and ONLY TRUE KING -- the LORD JESUS!

MINISTRY of Paul

 Acts 20:18

King James Version

18 And when they were come to him,

he said unto them,

Ye know, from the first day that I came into Asia,

after what manner I have been with you

at all seasons,

What was apostle Paul like?

How did he conduct himself?

How did he teach the WORD?

Nothing like getting it from the apostle himself:

Acts 20:19

King James Version

19 Serving the Lord with all humility of mind,

and with many tears, and temptations,

which befell me by the lying in wait of the Jews:

Acts 20:20

King James Version

20 And how I kept back nothing

that was profitable unto you,

but have shewed you,

and have taught you publicly,

and from house to house,

Acts 20:21

King James Version

21 Testifying both to the Jews,

and also to the Greeks,

repentance toward God,

and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.

Acts 20:22

King James Version

22 And now, behold,

I go bound in the spirit unto Jerusalem,

not knowing the things that shall befall me there:

Acts 20:23

King James Version

23 Save that the Holy Ghost witnesseth in every city,

saying that bonds and afflictions abide me.

Acts 20:24

King James Version

24 But none of these things move me,

neither count I my life dear unto myself,

so that I might finish my course with joy,

and the ministry,

which I have received of the Lord Jesus,

to testify the gospel of the grace of God.

Acts 20:26-27

King James Version

26 Wherefore I take you to record this day,

that I am pure from the blood of all men.

27 For I have not shunned to declare unto you

all the counsel of God.

Acts 20:28

King James Version

28 Take heed therefore unto yourselves,

and to all the flock, over the which

the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers,

to feed the church of God,

which he hath purchased

with his own blood.

Acts 20:29-30

King James Version

29 For I know this,

that after my departing shall grievous wolves

enter in among you, not sparing the flock.

30 Also of your own selves shall men arise,

speaking perverse things,

to draw away disciples after them.

Acts 20:31

King James Version

31 Therefore watch,

and remember,

that by the space of three years

I ceased not to warn every one

night and day with tears.

Acts 20:32

King James Version

32 And now, brethren,

I commend you to God,

and to the word of his grace,

which is able to build you up,

and to give you an inheritance

among all them which are sanctified.

Acts 20:33

King James Version

33 I have coveted no man's silver,

or gold, or apparel.

Acts 20:34

King James Version

34 Yea, ye yourselves know,

that these hands have ministered

unto my necessities,

and to them that were with me.

Acts 20:35

King James Version

35 I have shewed you all things,

how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak,

and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus,

how he said,

It is more blessed to give than to receive.

That was Paul's legacy.

A race he ran.

With flying colors.

Carrying GOD's banner.

Sharing the gospel of JESUS CHRIST.

2 Timothy 4:7-8

King James Version

7 I have fought a good fight,

I have finished my course,

I have kept the faith:

8 Henceforth there is laid up for me

a crown of righteousness,

which the Lord, the righteous judge,

shall give me at that day:

and not to me only,

but unto all them also

that love his appearing.

The HIGH PRIEST's burial

JESUS declared:

Matthew 5:17

King James Version

17 Think not that I am come

to destroy the law, or the prophets:

I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.

We just finished writing "After JESUS died".

As we got to the verses, I became excited.

Several verses caught my attention.

For they spoke volumes.

About the love and care people had for JESUS.

Even after His death.

And how GOD's commands, and Bible prophecy were fulfilled.

What more for His "only begotten Son".

Here are the verses that caught my attention.

With supporting commentaries from my end.

JESUS' body had to be wrapped in clean "linen".

Matthew 27:59

King James Version

59 And when Joseph had taken the body,

he wrapped it in a clean linen cloth,

COMMENTARY:

JESUS is the "great high priest".

He must be clothed in the finest linen, as Joseph of Arimathea accomplished.

The use of linen was prescribed by GOD for the high priest's "holy garments".

GOD always commanded "purity", even in material for garments.

Leviticus 16:4

King James Version

4 He shall put on the holy linen coat,

and he shall have the linen breeches upon his flesh,

and shall be girded with a linen girdle,

and with the linen mitre shall he be attired:

these are holy garments;

therefore shall he wash his flesh in water,

and so put them on.

Leviticus 16:32

King James Version

32 And the priest, whom he shall anoint,

and whom he shall consecrate to minister

in the priest's office in his father's stead,

shall make the atonement,

and shall put on the linen clothes,

even the holy garments:

Leviticus 19:19

King James Version

19 Ye shall keep my statutes.

Thou shalt not let thy cattle gender with a diverse kind:

thou shalt not sow thy field with mingled seed:

neither shall a garment

mingled of linen and woollen

come upon thee.

Deuteronomy 22:11

King James Version

11 Thou shalt not wear a garment of divers sorts,

as of woollen and linen together.

The tomb had to be "new".

Matthew 27:60

King James Version

60 And laid it in his own new tomb,

which he had hewn out in the rock:

and he rolled a great stone

to the door of the sepulchre,

and departed.

COMMENTARY:

Why should the LORD deserve less?

John 19:41

King James Version

41 Now in the place where he was crucified

there was a garden;

and in the garden a new sepulchre,

wherein was never man yet laid.

The sepulchre had to be "hewn out in the rock".

Matthew 27:60

King James Version

60 And laid it in his own new tomb,

which he had hewn out in the rock:

and he rolled a great stone

to the door of the sepulchre,

and departed.

COMMENTARY:

GOD was particular about not using "hewn stone", for this reason:

Exodus 20:25

King James Version

25 And if thou wilt make me an altar of stone,

thou shalt not build it of hewn stone:

for if thou lift up thy tool upon it,

thou hast polluted it.

JESUS had to be buried before "sabbath day".

Luke 23:54

King James Version

54 And that day was the preparation,

and the sabbath drew on.

COMMENTARY:

Keeping the "sabbath day" was a command from GOD.

Exodus 20:8-11

King James Version

8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.

9 Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:

10 But the seventh day

is the sabbath of the Lord thy God:

in it thou shalt not do any work,

thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter,

thy manservant, nor thy maidservant,

nor thy cattle,

nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:

11 For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth,

the sea, and all that in them is,

and rested the seventh day:

wherefore the Lord blessed the sabbath day,

and hallowed it.

John 19:31

King James Version

31 The Jews therefore,

because it was the preparation,

that the bodies should not remain upon the cross

on the sabbath day,

(for that sabbath day was an high day,)

besought Pilate that their legs might be broken,

and that they might be taken away.

The soldiers did not brake the LORD's legs.

John 19:33

King James Version

33 But when they came to Jesus,

and saw that he was dead already,

they brake not his legs:

COMMENTARY:

It has been prophesied.

Psalm 34:20

King James Version

20 He keepeth all his bones:

not one of them is broken.

John 19:36

King James Version

36 For these things were done,

that the scripture should be fulfilled,

A bone of him shall not be broken.

The LORD's side was "pierced".

John 19:34

King James Version

34 But one of the soldiers with a spear

pierced his side,

and forthwith came there out blood

and water.

COMMENTARY:

It has been prophesied.

Zechariah 12:10

King James Version

10 And I will pour upon the house of David,

and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem,

the spirit of grace and of supplications:

and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced,

and they shall mourn for him,

as one mourneth for his only son,

and shall be in bitterness for him,

as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn.

John 19:37

King James Version

37 And again another scripture saith,

They shall look on him whom they pierced.

All that I know now, I learned from SPIRIT.

He guides me each day.

There's actually so much to learn, which I look forward to.

To help me understand the NEW Testament, He made me look into the OLD Testament.

The reverse is also true.

Now, it's time to look into what happened when JESUS was resurrected.
