On being SILENT

 1 Timothy 2:12

King James Version

12 But I suffer not a woman to teach,

nor to usurp authority over the man,

but to be in silence.

This is a supporting article to the previous article, "On WOMEN pastors".

What did apostle Paul mean, when he said, "I suffer not a woman to teach"?

First, we take things in context.

What does it mean to be silent?

It's not to speak.

What does it mean to teach?

JESUS tells us:

Matthew 28:19-20

King James Version

19 Go ye therefore,

and teach all nations,

baptizing them in the name of the Father,

and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

20 Teaching them to observe all things

whatsoever I have commanded you:

and, lo, I am with you always,

even unto the end of the world. Amen.

Apostle Paul tells us:

2 Timothy 4:2-5

King James Version

2 Preach the word;

be instant in season, out of season;

reprove, rebuke, exhort

with all long suffering and doctrine.

3 For the time will come

when they will not endure sound doctrine;

but after their own lusts

shall they heap to themselves teachers,

having itching ears;

4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth,

and shall be turned unto fables.

5 But watch thou in all things,

endure afflictions,

do the work of an evangelist,

make full proof of thy ministry.

To "teach", in this context, means to TALK.

To teach all nations, baptize, teach what JESUS has commanded His apostles, preach the word, reprove, rebuke, exhort, do the work of an evangelist.

That would entail a lot of talking, ministering, and evangelizing.

Now, you see what apostle Paul meant when he commanded women to be "silent", not "usurp" man's authority, and not to "teach".

Are women, therefore, to take offense?

When the LORD JESUS made it clear what it means to teach, as He taught His apostles to?

Other Bible versions will give greater clarity, towards this context:

1 Timothy 2:12

Amplified Bible

12 I do not allow a woman to [a]teach or exercise authority over a man, but to remain quiet [in the congregation].

1 Timothy 2:12

Amplified Bible, Classic Edition

12 I allow no woman to teach or to have authority over men; she is to remain in quietness and keep silence [in religious assemblies].

1 Timothy 2:12

Living Bible

12 I never let women teach men or lord it over them. Let them be silent in your church meetings.

In SUMMARY "I suffer not a woman to teach", and "to be in silence", mean:

to remain quiet [in the congregation]

she is to remain in quietness and keep silence [in religious assemblies]

Let them be silent in your church meetings.

Apostle Paul was clear:

1 Corinthians 14:34-36

King James Version

34 Let your women keep silence in the churches:

for it is not permitted unto them to speak;

but they are commanded to be under obedience

as also saith the law.

35 And if they will learn any thing,

let them ask their husbands at home:

for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.

36 What?

came the word of God out from you?

or came it unto you only?

Why, then, does the church allow women pastors?

It defies what the Bible taught us.

If they do, they are not legit churches.

On WOMEN pastors

  1 Timothy 2:12

King James Version

12 But I suffer not a woman to teach,

nor to usurp authority over the man,

but to be in silence.

The Bible was clear.

video the HOLY SPIRIT led me to this morning was clear.

Women are not to preach.

I knew it was time to write this article.

The video shows how pastor husbands and wives preach.

You will also see a section wherein women pastors are ordained.

To what end?

That the church will have a greater volume of followers.

It's quantity, over quality.

Now, I must write about this abomination.

What were apostle Paul's reasons when he declared women should not ""teach"?

Brace yourself.

For surely, feminists and unbelievers, even many so-called Christians, will balk at this.

Here are apostle Paul's reasons:

1 Timothy 2:12-15

King James Version

12 But I suffer not a woman to teach,

nor to usurp authority over the man,

but to be in silence.

13 For Adam was first formed, then Eve.

14 And Adam was not deceived,

but the woman being deceived

was in the transgression.

15 Notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing,

if they continue in faith and charity and holiness

with sobriety.

1 Corinthians 14:34-36

King James Version

34 Let your women keep silence in the churches:

for it is not permitted unto them to speak;

but they are commanded to be under obedience

as also saith the law.

35 And if they will learn any thing,

let them ask their husbands at home:

for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.

36 What?

came the word of God out from you?

or came it unto you only?

Can you imagine how Satan would be using this?

Many will brand apostle Paul a male chauvinist.

Not that it ever bothered the faithful apostle.

He only cares to share the gospel of CHRIST.

He's a stalwart, manning the gates.

I greatly appreciate his courage.

The devil has many devices.

He infiltrates the world system.

Rather, he IS the world system.

And many have bought into it.

Scripture is here for a reason:

2 Timothy 3:16-17

King James Version

16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God,

and is profitable for doctrine,

for reproof, for correction,

for instruction in righteousness:

17 That the man of God may be perfect,

thoroughly furnished unto all good works.

1 Thessalonians 5:23

King James Version

23 And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly;

and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body

be preserved blameless

unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

This particular post seems to have angered the enemy.

I kept getting "tripped" as I wrote it.

I was encountering difficulties, technically, and supernaturally.

My hand felt weighed down.

As if someone, or something, was bearing down upon it.

But I must get it to you.

Please pay attention to what the Bible says.

We must live by it.

Many will surely be offended.

They may even turn away.

But JESUS knew that.

That's why He declared these:

Luke 16:15

King James Version

15 And he said unto them,

Ye are they which justify yourselves before men;

but God knoweth your hearts:

for that which is highly esteemed among men

is abomination in the sight of God.

John 7:7

King James Version

7 The world cannot hate you;

but me it hateth,

because I testify of it,

that the works thereof are evil.

John 15:18-19

King James Version

18 If the world hate you,

ye know that it hated me before it hated you.

19 If ye were of the world,

the world would love his own:

but because ye are not of the world,

but I have chosen you out of the world,

therefore the world hateth you.

Women are not to usurp the power of men.

That was clear, early on.

Why do we keep rebelling?

Are we captive, silly women?

A true born again won't question GOD's laws.

He will welcome instruction.

Men, and women alike.

Jew, and Gentile alike.

All who believe in JESUS.

Even a child could understand Paul's command.

No wonder JESUS asked we be converted as "little children":

Matthew 18:3-4

King James Version

3 And said,

Verily I say unto you,

Except ye be converted,

and become as little children,

ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.

4 Whosoever therefore shall humble himself

as this little child,

the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

Matthew 19:13-14

King James Version

13 Then were there brought unto him little children,

that he should put his hands on them, and pray:

and the disciples rebuked them.

14 But Jesus said,

Suffer little children,

and forbid them not, to come unto me:

for of such is the kingdom of heaven.

To further clarify apostle Paul's admonition to women, we've prepared another post, on why women are to be "silent".

This will be a very illuminating post, supported by Scripture.

And in perfect context.

P.S. Just so you know how angry the enemy was at my writing this article, first, he made me publish it. Only to find, after careful review, that I had a seemingly "tiny" error. It was actually only one word, but it literally spelled ALL the difference in the world, for me. I'm all for accuracy. Crafty, crafty Satan. It was enough for me to scrap the original title, and start all over again, making sure no errors escaped this time. I could not bear to be wrong for the LORD.

The enemy knew SPIRIT guides me to be pure, perfect, and precise on GOD's WORD. Making sure each verse was on target. And that every word, and phrase, was EXACTLY as the Bible referred to. It is no bother for me to look deeply into Scripture, making sure I understand.

We are in a spiritual battle

The enemy will keep tripping GOD's faithful.

Creating havoc, any which way he can.

Expect it.

Put on the FULL ARMOR of GOD.
